Variations: There is plenty of room for extra turns and variations in this dance.

Suggested Dance Style: The Raven Cha Cha is an off beat syncopated dance
with a Latin flare that is best performed to Cha Cha type music or slow
Bluzy music with lots of syncopated riffs in the suggested MPM/BPM Tempo
range. The dance is performed at a slow tempo with all steps being performed
short, quick and sharp. Arm movements are encouraged as long as they do not
detour from the dance.

Suggested Music: The Raven Cha Cha was choreographed to the song
"I Should Have Called" by Eddie Raven. The dance matches perfectly the
styling and syncopations of the song.

Comments: The Raven Cha Cha is not only a syncopated dance but also is an
off beat syncopated dance. The dance begins on the up beat of the previous
measure of music. As you can see - the dance is divided into 8 sections,
the odd sections (1,3,5, & 7) have 4.5 beats of music and the steps begin
on the last upbeat of the previous measure; while all the even sections
(2,4,6,&8) have 3.5 beats of music and the steps begin exactly on beginning
the down beat of the measure. A couple of the challenging places are at the
end of Step #'s 2,4,6 & 8 - where the full turns must be performed entirely
in 1½ beats of music. The Raven Cha Cha is Chris' latest Cha Cha
choreographed to one of his favorite artists Eddie Raven. Other dances
and songs respectively include Zydeco Lady to Zydeco Lady and Cha Cha Con
Tejas to Hot Pink. And just like Hot Pink and Zydeco Lady -- "I Should Have
Called" is a difficult song to find. Have fun with the dance and good luck
finding the song.
