JOE SPEED

CHOREOGRAPHER: William Sevone (WM '71) (May 28th 2002) Fremantle, Australia
		email: williamsevone@yahoo.com.au
COUNT: 32
TYPE: 4 Wall Line Dance
LEVEL: Advanced Beginner
MUSIC: Old Black Joe by Van Morrison & Linda Gail Lewis-174 bpm ('You Win Again')

Choreographer's note: In case you were wondering as to where you have heard this tune before, you
will have to go back to around 1971. Remember Dave Edmunds (& Rockpile), remember the music 'I'm
a'comin' home'....well it's the same...only now the title has reverted to its original form. A
word of warning (tongue in cheek) do not attempt to do the dance to the Dave Edmunds track your
relatives may have a problem trying to get the Insurance company to pay up..why?..because as the
speed of the music is greater (208 bpm) the Insurance company may deem that the dancer 'took
their own life' and in doing so cancelled their Life Insurance. (Anyway, I reckon the balance of
your mind would be cause for concern if you even attempted it).The dance is quite fast and short
- luckily so is the music. For teaching or practicing purposes try the John Anderson track
'Swingin' from his 'Greatest Hits vol 1' album. For those of you who (like me) find Linda's
singing voice fascinating then check out her album 'Linda Gail Lewis' - and some of the dances
that go with the tracks.
